It’s that time of year again when we turn our attention to next year, reflect on the year that just passed, and maybe feel a bit annoyed that we didn’t achieve more (don’t even go there) but also feel excited about the year that is coming up, full of energy for what’s to come.

We all know about the benefits of setting goals and how we achieve more when we do, but what if you don’t know what you want to do next year? What if you are just happy to have more customers? What if you don’t have a life plan or life vision? What do you do then?

Well, then you can set a Vision for yourself instead. I like having visions for things, because I’m a visual person and it works well with my methods of visualization. In the business world, the analytical mind is key, but so is the creative mind too, and setting a vision feels far more creative to me.

It allows us to dream a bit, play around with ideas and react quicker to changes and these are just as important in the entrepreneurial world. Our vision keeps us on track with our mission and in line with our purpose, and sometimes it’s far easier to remember a vision than it is all of our goals.
